Spiva Beef Stew

Pre heat 14 inch Dutch Oven

Heat oil

Put the flour, Lawrys Salt, garlic powder and black pepper in a zip lock bag.

Doing a few pieces at a time flour the meat in the zip lock bag.

Brown the meat in hot oil.

Add soup and bouquet.

Add vegetables and heat until hot

Add wine, red peppers and salt and pepper to taste.

BAKE: Cover and simmer for about 1 hour. When browning the meat you may need as many as 25 to 30 briquettes under the kettle. When simmering start with 12 to 14 briquettes under the kettle and 14 to 16 on the lid. Adjust as needed to maintain a low simmer. You may need to add fresh briquettes after about 40 minutes.

Hints: Serve with fresh baked bread or bake biscuits over the stew just before you are ready to serve.
